Making the world a more dimensional place since 1981.
3dx, a division of L!VE, is the next generation of immersive three-dimensional expressive design.
The first DeLorean rolls off the production line. MTV launches. And Iacono Productions is founded. In a small studio on Plum Street in downtown Cincinnati, Mike Iacono and a small crew produce photography for corporate clients like Procter and Gamble.
During the next decade, to meet the growing needs of their broadening portfolio of clients, Iacono Productions expands into live event production service.
By 1985, the simple pipe-and-drape stages from the early days had become more elaborate scenic solutions, and Iacono Productions moves into a larger studio space to accommodate its increasing capabilities.
Complexity rises, and so do prices. Rather than outsourcing increasingly costly physical materials, Mike reduces costs and lead-time for clients while improving quality by creating 3dx Scenic Studios, a full-service fabrication and production shop. With a 15,000-square-foot warehouse, a white Econoline van, $10,000 worth of tools, three employees and lots of eager enthusiasm, 3dx was born.
By the time 3dx attends their first IAAPA trade show, the company is experiencing double-digit growth annually.
The amusement park and attraction sector continues to explode, and 3dx establishes a fiberglass division to meet the high demand.
In a strategic acquisition, Live! Technologies acquires Iacono Productions and its complete set of services, including 3dx, and rebrands as L!VE—the nation’s foremost live, virtual and hybrid event production company, producing over 50,000 events for 11,000 leading brands.
