Virtual Graduations with Impact

Today, when so many social gatherings have been cancelled or curtailed, we have been working to create safe ways of creating memories for your graduates and their families. Here are a couple of ideas for making graduation special and unique, while still maintaining social distancing.

Hybrid Commencement Safely Focuses on Student Walking Across Stage

Graduates will walk across stage and pick up their diploma with their only their family present in an otherwise empty auditorium. Each student’s walk will be filmed and take 5–10 minutes to complete. This will allow the student to receive recognition for their accomplishment as their family celebrates in real time. This footage will be combined into a commencement video.

Prerecorded features of a traditional graduation like speeches from faculty, valedictorian, salutatorian and other guest speakers will be edited together with the commencement footage. Students and their families will watch the ceremony at home when it airs online as a livestream at a later date.

Virtual Commencement Creates Slideshow to Acknowledge Students

In our second scenario, rather than filming the commencement march, we will create individual slides to acknowledge students. Slides will contain a photograph, name, as well as student accomplishments. If time allows, these photographs could be taken on campus in their caps and gowns next to a landmark of the student’s choice.

Prerecorded segments of student, faculty and guest speakers will be produced and edited into a final video, which can be streamed by students and families at a later date. Additionally, this file could be made available as a keepsake.

We have created a number of scenarios to help reimagine your commencement ceremonies. Of course, there are many possible variations, so let’s please connect and discuss what best fits your needs.
